I would like to share a little bit of who I am with you. My grandparents are late Oscar Thomas and late Phyliss Wyse, and Catherine and Tony Williams. My parents are John Thomas and Maureen Thomas, my brother is Isaac Thomas and sister-in-law is Desiree Harris, and I have two nieces and one nephew, Kaylee, Jayden and Isabella.
I have been fortunate to receive a Bachelor of Science from Niagara University, New York, and a law degree from the University of British Columbia. I have worked in various political, business, government and corporate capacities both on provincial and national levels. Currently, I participate on a few Snuneymuxw Chief and Council Committees, I am a Board of Governor at Vancouver Island University and I am articling with Duncan Crown Counsel.
I am honoured to continue to serve you, Snuneymuxw Mustimuxw and work with you to build on the successes of our Nation. I am committed to building relationships between and amongst council, administration and community members through which we may deploy a multi-pronged strategy to improve the quality of life for our Snuneymuxw people as well as build and sustain a Snuneymuxw economy premised in protecting our cultural heritage and implementing our Douglas Treaty and Aboriginal Rights and Title to generate revenue. The cultural, social and financial health of our Nation is essential keys to our success to pass down a culturally vibrant and prosperous Snuneymuxw to our upcoming generations.
